Alexander Keith's Brewery

Women of Dubious Distinction at Alexander Keith’s Brewery

If you are ever in Halifax you must visit the Alexander Keith’s Brewery. I’ve been on many distillery tours, and this one ranks at the top. The tour consists of multiple rooms, with multiple guides all dressed up in period costumes.

After the main part of the tour you head into the old fashioned bar area by way of a narrow cobblestone path. While warning us about the dangers we might encounter such as “women of dubious distinction” the guide pointed right at ME! What do they know and who told them? I still haven’t lived that down. The entertainment is great and the beer is even better. They don’t skimp on the beer either…close to 2 pints each!
While you are still buzzing from the beer, take the opportunity to explore downtown Halifax
Unless you are like me and would rather explore Halifog.

For dinner I highly recommend The Economy Shoe Shop. It’s a funky restaurant with excellent food and (often) live music. Jay got the seafood chowder, which he said was the best he’d ever had (and Jay eats a LOT of seafood).
